#IYKYK: Sin and Saints

Join Bro. Tommy as he touches on the how John approaches the topics of sin, fellowship, and forgiveness in 1 John 1:5-2:2. The reality is that all Christians do sin, echoing the biblical perspective that the only person without sin is Jesus Christ. Three critical questions are posed: 1. Can a Christian sin? 2. Can a Christian lose their salvation? 3. And what should a Christian do when they sin? While a Christian can indeed sin, they cannot lose their salvation, as their relationship with God is one of eternal sonship. Instead, sin disrupts fellowship with God and leads to the loss of joy in that relationship. We will also learn of the importance of confession and acknowledging our sins. The overarching message is one of grace, emphasizing that while sin is a part of the Christian experience, God’s faithful nature assures forgiveness and restoration for those who genuinely seek it.
