DR. TOMMY PIERCE
SENIOR PASTOR
God has blessed me with the wonderful privilege of serving as Senior Pastor of Towering Oaks since April 1990. My chief responsibilities as Sr. Pastor include overall staff administration, vision casting, and preaching.
I graduated the University of Kentucky, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees, serving as Graduate Fellow in the Pastoral Ministries Division, contract teaching Preaching, voice and articulation.
I have had the privilege of organizing two mission churches into participating Southern Baptist Convention Churches and pastored churches in Chalmette, LA, and Covington, KY before coming to Towering Oaks.
Other than being a pastor, my joy is leading groups on Holy Land Tours having been to Israel over 20 times.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR – ADMINISTRATOR
Since my salvation, in 1978, the Lord has continued His work in my life. It has been an honor to serve the Lord in quite a few areas of ministry; from teaching Sunday school, to outreach, Gideons, and leading ministry teams, the Lord has opened many doors of service.
In 2021, I answered the call to ministry, and was ordained into ministry service. With a degree in Ecclesiastical Jurisprudence, and many years of business experience, the Lord was clearly preparing me for ministry at Towering Oaks Baptist Church.
As Towering Oaks Baptist Church’s Associate Pastor, and Administrator, it is a pleasure to serve you.

MARK ELLISON
ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF PASTORAL MINISTRIES
G’day, my name is Mark Ellison and I serve as the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Ministries, overseeing our Adult Discipleship, Pastoral Care, Ministry Teams, & media and live streaming ministries. I have been on staff since 2016 originally serving as the Next Generation Student Pastor and have been in full time ministry since 2001 serving churches in Texas and Tennessee.
I graduated with my degree in Wellness and Fitness Management from Arkansas Tech University and earned my Masters in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX.
I met Christ and my wife, Jamie, while attending Arkansas Tech University. We have four children: Jaida, Tori, Lyla, and Michael (Mikey).
I enjoy a good book, watching movies with my family, fishing, and grocery store runs … I mean dates with Jamie.
My goal in ministry is to partner with families as they encounter Christ, deepen their heart connections with one another, and build godly relationships that strengthen the church.

SHELLEY PIERCE
PRESCHOOL & CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
God has blessed me by allowing me to be a part of children’s ministries in one way or another for most of my life. As a part of your staff family for 17 years, it an honor and privilege to plan and oversee the ministries to preschool and elementary age children. God has provided a wonderful, loving staff of volunteers who prepare each week to bring the Gospel to the children on Sunday mornings at 9:00.
Pastor Tommy and I enjoy time with our growing family. We have four married children and seven grands. #Blessed!
My faves include my morning cup of coffee, all things pumpkin spice, and snow, snow, snow!
If I am not spending time with family, you will find me at my computer working on my next book.

Hello! My name is Amy Pfaff-Biebel, and I am the administrator of Towering Oaks Christian School. I feel so blessed to be leading this ministerial and educational branch of Towering Oaks Baptist Church because I have a deep love and passion for Jesus, children, and education.
I earned my graduate and undergraduate degrees from Saginaw Valley State University. I am the wife of Rex, my high school sweetheart, and the mother of two amazing children: Joe and Ann. I have always known of our Creator, but I began a relationship with His son, Jesus, in 2001. God brought our family all the way from Michigan, and I am humbled and thankful that He did. We love Tennessee’s rolling hills, majestic mountains, and most importantly His loving people that have quickly made us feel at home.

Krystal Carpenter
Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor
Hello! I am Krystal Carpenter, and I am the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. I was blessed and honored to take over this role and I have been working here at TOBC since May of 2024. Previously, I worked as a Park Ranger at Bays Mountain Park, Kingsport for 17 years. While working at Bays Mountain I met my husband, Todd Carpenter. Todd and I love spending time with our family, and we have three beautiful daughters: Mason, Ellie, and Anna. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and spending time on my mini farm. TOBC has been a blessing, and I am honored to be here!

Scott Parker
Facilities Assistant
Let me introduce myself. I am Scott Parker and I am the Facilities Assistant here at Towering Oaks Baptist Church.
I had retired in fall of 2023 after a 38 year career in commercial maintenance. However God had other plans for me. My wife Jennifer, our son Clinton and I moved to Greeneville in February of 2024 and shortly afterwards we were invited to Towering Oaks Baptist Church. The first time we walked thru the doors we knew this was where God wanted us to be. We joined Towering Oaks early in the summer of 2024.
Shortly after joining TOBC I was informed of the opening in the Facilities Maintenance department. I accepted the position and was able to bring those 38 years of experience to TOBC. It is an honor to be a part of this ministry and use the talents God has given me to help keep the facilities here at TOBC in good repair. We strive to be the best stewards possible with what God has blessed us with.
Jennifer and I have both become active in other areas of TOBC as well. Her in the women’s ministry and me with the Worship Team. Clinton loves being here as well. It is a true joy to call TOBC our home.

Pam Bell
Financial Secretary of TOBC & TOCS
Hello, my name is Pam Bell. I am so excited to be joining TOBC as Finance Secretary. I have enjoyed working in finance in one way or another for almost 25 years. I consider this a ministry and truly desire to bring glory to my Savior through my work.
I am so excited to be returning to my home after 20 years in Eastern North Carolina.
I grew up in a Christian school and Christian education is dear to my heart. I had heard the Gospel, memorized many verses, and knew all the right things to say and do, but in 1994, I realized I had never truly had a relationship with Christ. I asked Christ to become real to me, and just as He promises, He did.
I have been married to my husband, Donnie for 35 years and we have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
We have purchased land in Cedar Creek and look forward to many years sitting in rockers on our porch, listening to the creek.
