About Towering Oaks Baptist Church
TOBC is a fellowship of believers located in beautiful Greeneville, TN. Jesus Christ is our Savior and builder of the church (Matthew 16:18). The people of the church comprise the Body (Ephesians 1:22-23), and our future is bright! TOBC gathers for worship, Bible study, fellowship, discipleship, and encouragement. Towering Oaks is a Southern Baptist church that seeks and promotes a personal relationship with God. We strive to communicate the truth of God’s Word in a relevant and understandable way for many that face real issues and are looking for answers. We have discovered that those answers are only found in a personal walk with Jesus Christ. We consider ourselves to be real people; not perfect, just forgiven sinners that have experienced a love and acceptance that we joyfully share with others.
What we believe
Here at Towering Oaks, everything we do and the reason we exist, is because of God’s gift of forgiveness through His son Jesus.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

We exist to KNOW HIM and MAKE HIM KNOWN.
GOD LOVES YOU
Because God loves you so much, He desires to have a personal relationship with you.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

IT’S A SIN PROBLEM
Sin is doing things your own way and not living God’s way.
“as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:10
SIN SEPARATES FROM A LOVING GOD
Sin in forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into a relationship with God, Who is holy. In this state, you cannot have fellowship with God.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF
You are headed to a Christless eternity in a place called Hell.
There’s nothing you can do on your own to restore your broken relationship with God.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
GOD SENT JESUS TO REMOVE YOUR BARRIER
What you cannot do on your own, Jesus came and did for you. By taking your punishment for sin on Himself, Jesus made a way for you to have a relationship with God.
YOU CAN RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST THROUGH FAITH
Faith leads to repentance where you are sorry for your sin and you willingly turn from your sin and embrace Jesus. Faith is complete surrender on Christ to put you into a right relationship with God.
I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except Through ME.
John 14:6
THROUGH PRAYER YOU CAN TRUST JESUS
- Admit to God you are a sinner.
- Tell God your sorrow and for your sinfulness.
- Ask Him to forgive you of your sins.
- Invite Jesus into your life and allow Him to be your Savior and Lord.
- Commit yourself to live for Jesus.
- Thank Him for making His love known to you.
