Dear Church Family,
In this newsletter, you will learn a lot about our candidate, Lee Allen Dalton, coming in view of a call to serve as our part-time “Minister of Musical Worship.” On Sunday morning, February 8th, he and his family will come, and at the end of the service, all active members present will have the opportunity to vote on him to serve in this capacity.
Allow me to explain the title of “Minister of Musical Worship.” The word “minister” is derived from a theological implication that is less about holding a clerical office and more about a posture of service—whether to God or to others. Leaders in the church, like Paul and the apostles, regularly refer to themselves as “servants” or (synonymously) “ministers,” emphasizing humility and service over authority. The word “musical” is rather self-explanatory. “Worship” is a word with the theological implication of being both an outward act (singing, bowing, praising) and an inward reality (reverence, submission, love).
According to Romans 12:1–2, worship is more than music or ceremony; it’s a lifestyle of giving God the honor and submission He is due. If called, our new “Minister of Musical Worship” will help us to serve the Lord musically by revering, submitting to Him, and loving Him.
All for Jesus,
Dr. Jeremy Roberts
We are living in amazing days. God is at work in and through His people. Resources for growth are everywhere. God continues to show His love and faithfulness in abundance! Count those blessings! If you have children (babies-6th grade) who attend Sunday School, you have likely noticed a few things. I will list some here for those of you who may not know:
Our rooms are clean because we know that is important to you. Your child is safe because we know it is important to you. We also know children learn best in clean, safe environments. Your child’s teachers are faithful and prepared. We communicate God’s love through Bible learning every time your child walks through the door. The KidsMin leadership is serious about their commitment to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the lives of boys and girls.
We are intentional about providing extra ways for you to make Bible reading and application as well as prayer a part of daily time with family. We know God has given parents the great responsibility to teach their children and we love to come alongside you.
The Kids for Christ building for grades k-4th takes on a new look each month in hopes of creating excitement for the kids and a desire to invite friends to “Come and see.”
I can hear you right now. You’re asking “What can we do?”
Take a moment this Sunday and speak to your child’s teachers. Let them know you appreciate their investment each week. Maybe encourage your child to write a note or card thanking their teachers for all they do.
Pray for your child’s teachers. They are just like you with cares, concerns and daily demands. They show up each week because they love God and they love kids.
Bring your kids. Maybe right now you attend worship and kids worship only. Now is a great time to bring your children to the 9:00-10:15 Bible time. We would be excited to see you! There are great adult classes waiting for you as well.
Encourage your children to invite friends.
Jump in. Get a background check and come talk to me about ways to serve in the most important ministry with the most important people in the building.
Plans for our Palm Sunday KidsMin Celebration (March 29) are coming together. You’ll hear more about this very soon. Let me say this now though—it’s a great opportunity for your kids to bring friends for a great time in God’s house. You should also know—this is not exclusive to Palm Sunday. We have a great time in God’s house every week but sometimes it takes a special event/reason to invite families to be here. Be a part of the invite process. Don’t leave it to the kids. Invite families to be here. Offer to walk in with them, sit with them, worship alongside them. Give parents my number and suggest they text or call me with questions. I’d love to converse with your friends!
We have a 14 day Beary Loved gummi bear family scripture challenge for you for the month of February. Yet another opportunity to read the Bible together!
I’m thankful for you, my TOBC family. I love you and love serving alongside you. We have reason to celebrate.
Shelley
Hello TOBC family and friends! Greetings from the Underground!
As Krystal and I step down from our roles as youth leaders after 15 months, we wanted to share our gratitude for the opportunity to serve this congregation. It has been a privilege to work with your children and to be trusted with their spiritual growth. We are thankful for the support you have shown us during this season, and we feel fortunate to have been a part of this church’s ministry.
Our focus over the past year and a half has been to provide a consistent environment built on biblical teaching and purposeful gatherings. We prioritized studying Scripture together and sought to create a space where students felt encouraged to grow in their faith. Whether through weekly lessons or group events, our goal was to be reliable mentors and to point the youth toward a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
As the church begins the process of hiring a permanent Youth Minister, we believe there is a solid foundation in place for the next leader to build upon. We are confident in the direction of the program and look forward to seeing how the youth ministry continues to develop in the coming years. Thank you again for the chance to serve alongside you; we will continue to keep the youth and this congregation in our prayers.

Youth Ministry .. New Chapter
Our youth are in for a special treat! On Sunday Mornings, Pastor Jeremy will be leading a Bible study. On Wednesday Evenings, Pastor Greg will be presenting a series on Defending Our Faith: How Do We Know the Bible is True? Note that Randa will continue to prepare some great dishes. Don’t miss it! On a related note, Pastor Jeremy and Bro. Greg are currently weighing our options as to where we will go for youth camp this summer. Stay tuned for the latest details on that!
Dear T.O.B.C. Family,
I hope this finds you all staying warm during these very cold wintery days. I continue to ask for your prayers for decisions to live for Jesus as we share love and truth from God’s Word with our school students each day and also to pray for an Evangelical illusionist, David Corn, who is coming to share with our students and many other school students in our area. David engages students with illusion while he very intentionally and clearly shares the Good News of Jesus, so I ask that you join me in prayer that the Holy Spirit will continue to work through him as he shares truth with so many students in our area the week of February 9th.
In His Service,
Amy Pfaff-Biebel
