DR. TOMMY PIERCE - SENIOR PASTOR

It is a thrill and a joy for Shelley and me to serve alongside the family members of Towering Oaks Baptist Church since April of 1990 after serving churches in Louisiana and Kentucky.

My Dad is a pastor and I was born when he was serving at Patchuta, MS. The Lord called me to salvation when I was a seven year old boy at the Amite Baptist Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana and to preach when I was 16.

I began to serve in the ministry soon after graduating high school and attending LSU, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Prairieville, Louisiana. Because I missed my momma so much, I moved to Kentucky to live with my parents and graduated from the University of Kentucky. While living in Lexington, I served as a missions pastor of the Porter Memorial Downtown Mission, and then as pastor of Valley View Baptist Mission Church. Upon completing college, I returned to Louisiana where I attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving the Masters of Divinity and the Doctor or Ministry degrees. While attending seminary, I was pastor of Reserve Southern Baptist Mission which later became the First Baptsit Church of Reserve, and the First Baptist Church of Chalmette, LA.

Towering Oaks has been a wonderful place for Shelly and me to raise our four wonderful children. I have enjoyed leading many trips to Israel (I have taken 14). I love Towering Oaks because of the people God has entrusted me to serve, the opportunity for preaching that is well received and from the Book, for a dedicated and wonderful staff with whom to serve, the saints in our fellowship, but most of all because Jesus loves Towering Oaks and has a special place in His heart for this church.

Jay parker - discipleship & worship pastor

I am Jay Parker and I am honored to serve at TOBC. God moved our family here in September of 2013. I have seen God at work from day one. I have a heart for God's people to grow and mature in their faith, but also to love and encourage other people.

I have been serving in ministry for almost 17 years. I am more passionate about serving the Lord Jesus now than ever. There is a burning desire in my heart to see lives forever changed by knowing Jesus Christ and serving Him. This is something that I don't have to do, but rather I GET TO DO THIS!

God has blessed me with an incredible family. I am the proud husband of Misty, who is my best friend next to the Lord Jesus. We are the proud parents to two awesome children, Madalyn and Joel. They both proudly attend Towering Oaks Christian School. We are also thankful for our families that mean so much to us, who live in Mississippi.

I love meeting people and forming relationships. If you choose to come worship with us, give me the joy of meeting you personally.

I extend to you a personal invitation to come check out one of our small Bible fellowship groups that we call Sunday school. It is a great place to meet people and learn God's truth. You are also invited to check our our worship ministry opportunities whether you enjoy singing, playing an instrument, or have a desire to serve the Lord in another way. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Mark ellison - next generation student pastor

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve TOBC as their Next Generation Student Pastor. God brought my family and I to serve at TOBC in March of 2016. I have been in student ministry full time since 2001 with prior service as a part-time student minister and involvement with the Fellowship of Christian athletes as a camp huddle leader while a college student at Arkansas Tech University. I have served churches as an intern and part-time in Arkansas and full-time in Texas and Tennessee. The future is bright for TOBC! We have great students and parents as well as staff who desires to see everyone come into a growing and vibrant relationship with Christ.

I have been married to my best friend Jamie for 17 years in July. God has blessed me so much with a wonderful, loving wife. As a former collegiate football player, I can say I outkicked my coverage when I married her. We are proud parents to four smiling, energetic children: Jaida, Tori, Lyla, and Michael (Mikey). They sure do keep us on our toes.

It is my desire to see our student ministry reach and partner with families as we walk together in our respective journeys of faith with Christ. While we will plan and do all sorts of activities from lock-ins to camps to mission trips to retreats, there is nothing more important to me than to see students and their families encounter Christ and godly relationships built that strengthen the family and the church. One of my favorite quotes comes from Walt Mueller's book, Engaging The Soul Of Youth Culture, "We must never assume that methodologies can do what only relationships can." That is where my heart is - connecting students and families to Christ, each other, the church, and the community.

jimmy webb - Associate pastor

christian school &

preschool administrator

I am Jimmy Webb and it is a privilege to be a part of Towering Oaks. I have served in the ministry since 2005 where I have served as Youth Pastor, Pastor and as a Christian Educator. I have a heart to see students at Towering Oaks Christian School to come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior and continually grow in their Christian walk. It is my desire to help them know the Lord fresh and new every day.

I enjoy sports and cheering for the TN Volunteers. I also enjoy outdoor activities like camping, hunting, and fishing. My wife Tammy and I have been married since 2000. Tammy enjoys sports, music, singing, and working in the yard. We have been blessed with our two children, Mandalyn and Kason. They both attend Towering Oaks Christian School. Our family enjoys worshiping together and going together on mission projects. I look forward to meeting you and hopefully serving your family.

sHELLEY PIERCE - DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN'S & PRESCHOOL

My name is Shelley Pierce and I am your Pastors wife as well as your Director of Preschool and Children's Ministries. Tommy and I have 4 children. I have served as a volunteer in ministry to children and families since the age of 18. Tommy and I have been a part of the Towering Oaks family since April 1990. I became an official staff member November 2002. God has given me many wonderful opportunities to serve him such as writing children's curriculum for LifeWay for almost ten years, leading in training seminars and helping sister churches prepare for Vacation Bible School as well as other children's events.

When not involved in church ministry I most enjoy my family, free lance writing, sewing, cooking, and hanging out with my dogs. I make sure to find fun in almost everything I do because life is too short to focus on the negative. I realize that life is difficult and there are many hurting people all around me, so in spite of my love of laughter, I am not afraid to cry with those who hurt.

I am grateful every day for God's gift to me in allowing me the privilege of serving Him through teaching, leading, and loving kids and their families. My door is always open to you. I am always willing to stop and pray with you, hear a great story about one of your children or just talk about the weather. By the way, I love snow!

Come by and say Hi! Ask me about all the wonderful people we have here at Towering Oaks who look forward each week to teaching children the biblical truth of God's great love!
